Advice for Princesses
And if only I could tell all the
Princesses, maidens, wenches, step-mums -
Life starts when you feel Time and you own Time.
Life starts when you walk in the woods all alone
And have never felt more at peace. Life
Starts when you see the dew form on rosebuds,
life starts when you pause in the biting cold just to
Stare at the moon, Life starts when you know that
Your thoughts are safest in your head, locked away where
They can't be diminished by the casual act of saying
them aloud, don't let the judging air choke them.
We, our brains, our thoughts,
Will not, and cannot, be diluted.
And this, my body, is incidental evolution
Because
Well
I have to carry my mind around somehow.
So women of the world,
Women of the past, remember -
Life starts when you and your thoughts can dance.
