Fi and Jonny
He could hear it
Distant but pressing
A faint beautiful horizon humming but it was
Drumming against his heart, an almighty melody,
An anthemic way of saying those three simple words,
And if he didn't let them sing, let them soar,
His heart would burst out of his chest and into her.
He pushed her hair away from her face,
So there was nothing, no barrier, between him and
Her eyes. And he took a deep breath,
And whispered to her what was in his heart,
His mind, his skin and soul, his very being.
And she... she opened her hands gently and gracefully,
A lotus flower to capture his poor defeated heart,
She clasped her hands around it, and poured herself in,
And vowed never, ever, to let it float away.
It was over. He would never feel alone again.
Because in her he had found his everlasting harbour,
And graceful as the calm warm sea,
They will hold each other through every storm.
